One of Visalia's most charming and authentic restaurants, Valhalla's has been in the biz for quite some time! This past weekend they celebrated their 30th year of being in business, and boy did they celebrate! Coming off a recent revamping of the restaurant interior, the owners and staff were ready to thank their loyal customers and friends by sharing aebleskivers (Dutch pancake balls), and other classic Dutch cuisine.
ation owner and operator, stopped by our table to chat for a few minutes and share some of her stories with us. Our favorite? Her mother owned the restaurant before her and started Valhalla's from scratch! They've incorporated their family recipes and even use the same aebleskiver pan they used when Kim was growing up. Now, Kim's kids help out in the restaurant as well (that's three whole generations!). Kim's got quite the story and she loves to share it. Her passion and love for Valhalla's and cooking radiate through her smile. Congratulations on 30 years of great service and excellent food! We're looking forward to celebrating many more years with you!

all is, hands down, the most frequented shopping spot in town. They've got most of the major department stores, but they have some great boutiques as well! Today, we stopped in to visit one of the Mall's newest tenants, Francesca's Collections. This store is a girl's dream! An entire wall of purses, a huge table of accessories, and racks and rack of stylish clothes adorn this adorable boutique. They've got a great variety of colors, patterns, and styles. My first thought walking in? Can I just transport this entire store to my house and make it my closet?! I wouldn't call myself a 'fashionista', so I love it when I can go shopping and see the clothes (accessories and all!) on a mannequin. It just makes life easier. Francesca's definitely has this; I wanted every outfit they had on display and I was able to pull the outfits straight off the rack! And you really can't beat the prices (they were even having a summer sale!). Needless to say, we spent quite some time in the dressing rooms and playing with all of the fun accessories.
