THE PARKS ARE OPEN

Maximize your visit to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks this summer by using our recommended driving routes to see the famous giant sequoia trees. The national park service has recently completed serveral road improvement projects ahead of schedule, making more areas of the park accessible to visitors.

The Giant Forest area of Sequoia National Park, featuring the General Sherman Tree, Moro Rock, Tunnel Log and more, is open and accessible to visitors via the Highway 198 entrance. Visitors can travel to and from Giant Forest from the Ash Mountain entrance station. Note that visitors may still encounter delays as construction continues in the vicinity between Hospital Rock and Giant Forest Museum.

Enter Kings Canyon with access to Boyden Cavern and Cedar Grove / Road's End via the Highway 180 - Big Stump entrance gate. Since both parks are connected by the Generals Highway, you can travel between the parks easily. And the best part is that you only need one entry pass.
