Hello November!

| 11/08/2011 | Agriculture & Tastings, Arts and Entertainment, Downtown Visalia, Family Friendly, Things to Do
Where in the world did October go? I can't believe it's already November! Life has been busy here at the CVB (hence the total lack of posting!) and time just seems to fly by. But, we had a few minutes and wanted to take a chance to say HELLO and let you know about some fun and exciting things going on around Visalia... Bari Olive Oil Company They recently had their 75th year celebration (congrats to them!) and this is a great place to check out if you haven't already. They offer extra virgin olive oil and gourmet vinegar, as well as other gourmet items. You may even find some of their products in our local stores! Head over to Bari Olive Oil and take a peek at their gift shop and olive oil mill. They're open Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. For more information, check out their website here. Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture There is so much culture in and around Visalia! Take this opportunity to learn about a different culture (or maybe even your own) at the Clark Center in Hanford. They are currently doing an exhibit called "Woven Identities of Japan: Kimono and Costumes." It looks pretty cool, so check it out! For more info on their current exhibit click here. Visalia's Candy Cane Lane Parade How many of you look forward to the Christmas parade each year? I know I do, I even marched in the parade for 6 years in a row back when I was in band (wow, that takes me back!) Each year, I dread the biting cold and the crowds. But each year I am SO glad that I bundled up and got myself out to Main Street. My holidays just wouldn't be complete without the parade. It's a long standing Visalia tradition (this year makes 66 years of parade fun!) and it's a great way to kick off the holiday season. This year's parade will be held on Monday, November 28th at 7:00pm (get there early so you can get a front row seat). Grab your jackets, blankets, and hot chocolate and head out to Main Street to watch the excitement. Adults and children alike will love the atmosphere and seeing all of the different groups that perform. For more info on this year's parade, click here. Hope everyone is enjoying their November and the change of weather! Stay tuned for future posts!
