The Corner Cafe

| 09/21/2011 | Dine, Family Friendly
How many of us eat breakfast every day? I know I don't and yet, it's called 'the most important meal of the day'. So why do we miss out on it so often? For me, it's simply because what I crave every morning comes from a local restaurant. If only I could move the cooks and waitresses from this local joint into my house to cook for me each morning, I'd get that very important meal every day. The Corner Cafe, located on the corner of Cain St. and Mineral King in Visalia, is a hometown favorite. I've been eating breakfast (and the occasional lunch) at this place since I was little. Once I reached high school and could drive myself, my friends and I got together every Wednesday for breakfast before school. We typically got there around 6:30am (for a group of teenagers to get up that early just for breakfast, you know it must be good!). After a few weeks, the waitresses had memorized our orders and knew exactly how we wanted our coffee. My friends and I loved the environment; we got to hang out with the locals and the cooks and waitresses never let us down. Our orders were always quick and correct. The restaurant itself makes you feel like you're in your own kitchen, eating with your whole family. And the FOOD! I could go on and on about the amazing food that The Corner Cafe serves! Homemade jam and salsa, awesome French toast, delicious chicken fried steak, and biscuits and gravy (my favorite!) that are out of this world. The portions are large and you always leave feeling full and maybe even with a to-go box. Their prices are great too! I definitely get my money's worth whenever I go to The Corner. All in all, this local eatery is always one of my top choices when choosing a place to eat for breakfast. I make it my goal to eat here at least twice a month. Are you hungry yet? I am! Check out The Corner Cafe this week and let us know what you think! They're open M-F, 5:30am-2:00pm, and Sat. and Sun. from 5:30am-1:00pm. Here's a few pictures (as if you're not hungry enough already!) [gallery link="file"]
