Today, Downtown Visalia is a blaze of fun and now sports these unique pieces of eye candy for the many tourists and local pedestrians to view and enjoy. Start your ART ON FIRE Hydrant Walk at Santa Fe and Main Street. Heading west on Main Street, you will enjoy one or two hydrants on both the north and south side of each block. As you stroll down the 18 blocks, stop into one of the many fine eateries and pick up a lunch to go. At the west end of the hydrant tour, you will have a choice of either the Mayor's Park or The Ralph C. Moore Rose Garden Park to enjoy your lunch. Then make your way back downtown to enjoy a special cold treat as you explore the many wonderful shops in Visalia's beautiful downtown area.
Designs for the artworks now seen on twenty two fire hydrants in Downtown Visalia spread like wildfire. Replacing the traditional yellow, the selected hydrants became the canvass for creative designs with unique themes.

With a mission of 'developing and promoting the visual arts to enhance the quality of life in our community,' we offer a year-round selection of art exhibitions and art education programs. In addition, we have a wonderful fine arts gift shop featuring unique, handmade items by local and regionally recognized artists. With new exhibitions offered each month and art classes for all ages, there is always something new to experience at Arts Visalia.
